I have to go for Vaan, the only reason he exists is because the morons at SE though people wouldn't like basch and ashe as protags... he legit just exists for the player to have a PoV, he has no depth or anything.

The main driving focus of him going on an adventure was to avenge his brother, but that was only mentioned a handful of times before it was never spoken about again. Then he becomes essentially a Britany Spears backup dancer, because even in his own game he becomes a backup character.

I realize Ashe was supposed to be the main character, but she wasn't even introduced until 1/4 way through the game, and even her motivations were barely spoken of, or acted upon. I argue they should have pulled a Laguna with her and had side stories with her at vital points of the main game, until she joins the main roster, where she has a lot more driving force against the main antagonist.
I would much rather have a non character than Hope in any cast.

Eh, I'd never argue with anyone who disliked his character (although he doesn't bother me personally), but mechanically he's an excellent character. He's the best support character in the game which means he makes it into almost every top tier party.

On topic, I voted Umaro. My actual picks for worst character aren't on this list.

There are plenty of characters I find bland, but only three that have actively irritated me: Cait Sith, Zell, and Quina.
