* No NPC Day/Night cycle. NPCs spawn and despawn outside of the player's view.
* If an NPC is doing an action, they will do that action forever until the player moves. * NPCs that are not story/side quest related have one dialog reply. * If one NPC is assaulted, every other NPC in a large circle around the player will crouch to the floor in the same animation, even if they did not see the original assault. * NPCs in a car will follow a specific route. If the route is even slightly interupted, for example by your car, they will cease to move forever until you remove the obstruction. * NPCs in a car will not attempt to move or exit their vehicle if you assault them with bullets/another vehicle. * NPCs will not acknowledge the player if they run the player over with their car. * NPCs will not attempt to steal their vehicle back if you steal it from them. * NPCs will not attack you or defend themselves in any way or form, even if engaged upon with just fists. * Police spawn around the player's vision when the player is wanted, forever, until they attempt to hide or drive away. * Police to not attempt to question, warn, or arrest the player for even the smallest crime commited, for example if you bump into them or accidently enter a private area. * Police are incapable of driving cars and chasing the player if they drive away. * Police will not attack hostile targets like Gangs if they are not already doing so in an activity. * Police will know if the player has attacked an NPC in the middle of the badlands and spawn next to the player, without vehicles. * NPCs will rarely thank or acknowledge the player if they are helped by the player. * Scripted NPCs that have dialog will say their dialog then proceed to stand there forever. They will also repeat the same dialog if the player leaves the area and visits again later. ... Copied to Clipboard!

There isn't exactly much of a reason to go on a rampage killing civilians when there are more than enough gang members standing around the city. I mean this game isn't GTA. It's not built on emergent npc behavior and not really a sandbox game. People are forgetting it's still a wrpg. Yes, it's open world but the design follows its own path.
I mean in GTA there's not as many interiors that are seamless as Cyberpunk. I can't build my character in a roleplaying manner in GTA. Enemies don't scale based on type and location. The side missions don't go as into depth as Cyberpunk. Since 2001 Rockstar hasn't made a fully original city from the ground up like Night City. There are SERIOUS problems with the AI but NPCS behaving like NPCS isnt the damn problem. Pick your battles my guy. Spawning shit outside the players view is literally how a lot of games need to function in order to to not grind to a halt. No GTA is rendering a whole city and all the NPCs all at once. they all do this same shit. They also all still have the same weird physics thing where the second you get in a car, that same car then is WAY more likely to appear. They used to try and ram you or get around you at red lights. Pedestrians in GTA arent going to have important lines of dialogue. You cant even talk to them. You can make them spill lines like some kind of toy with a pull string...but you know thats all they are. Cops have gotten better. But they also just used to try and kill you for the most minor infraction. one developer has 23 years of experience making the same type of game. Not trying to sound like I'm defending the rushed quality of the game, but a majority of the things in TC's post won't impact 99.9% of players and are simply trivial complaints for the sake of complaining.
The only few that really suck and impact gameplay for >0.01% of players are: ...every other NPC in a large circle around the player will crouch to the floor in the same animation, even if they did not see the original assault. -This one simply looks dumb visually, I'd rather see them run away. But the only reason I even included this one is because I was doing a gang thing and shots started, but an NPC was crouched on a fire escape-type of stairway, and I literally couldn't get around him to go up to fight the gang. Hindsight is I probably could've shot him, but I wasn't exactly thinking of that at the time. Police to not attempt to question, warn, or arrest the player for even the smallest crime commited, for example if you bump into them or accidently enter a private area. -This one actually is annoying. I sometimes have to get up close to the cops since they have the little yellow enemy icon over their heads (to see if they're cops or bad guys), but get even remotely too close to them and they immediately get aggroed. Police are incapable of driving cars and chasing the player if they drive away. -Also very stupid, but the flipside is, given how easy it is to aggro cops for nothing, I'd be annoyed if me literally walking down the street ended up with me wasting ten minutes in a car chase trying to flee because I got too close to a cop. Logically it's dumb, but if the cops are going to get aggroed at anything, then this is the type of thing I'll accept as a trade-off. Police will know if the player has attacked an NPC in the middle of the badlands and spawn next to the player, without vehicles. -Very stupid. I have noticed the bounty/cop system is a little too trigger-happy, this doesn't help. ---------------- The rest of these are extremely trivial gripes (non-quest related NPCs having one line, no cycles, repeating actions, etc.) and/or can actually be explained if you think about it NPCs will not acknowledge the player if they run the player over with their car. -A hit and run in Night City? Color me shocked, I'm not surprised the person wouldn't get out and try to apologize for fear of probably getting shot immediately. I'd keep driving too. NPCs will not attempt to steal their vehicle back if you steal it from them. -Same idea. Guy steals my car, he's probably got many guns. I've got nothing. He can take it. NPCs will rarely thank or acknowledge the player if they are helped by the player. -Realistically I'd be a little jipped by not getting a thank you as well, but I'd probably bolt as soon as the shooting ended and I saw my window to flee to safety. But even being able to prompt a little one-liner "you're safe now" to a crouched NPC in an assault/crime area would help immensely. I don't even need a reward, it just looks silly seeing a frightened NPC in an area that is now totally safe, I'd like to be able to tell them that. ---------------- So, yeah, I agree it's not great programming, but the tl;dr is a big chunk of these are minor and don't impact gameplay at all unless you're specifically looking for things to gripe about because it's the hip thing to do right now. --- NFLB 2020 Summersim Roster mk. 1 (12-4): https://imgur.com/4Pvr5rT NFLB 2020 Summersim Roster mk. 2 (11-5) (ELIMINATED): https://imgur.com/BBhN2z3 ...
