Remodeled my kitchen over the summer... it took a while but other than having the counter installed and the floor refinished saved a ton of money by doing it myself (with a lot of help from my dad)

It's funny how we covet what we don't have. What I'd do for more free-time...

Although I guess job security during these times is priceless.

The new kitchen looks great, good job.

Looks good! Were those original counter tops Butcher block? In the middle of my own renovations right now, deciding between:
1) all granite
2) granite with a section of butcher block
3) granite on existing countertop + running electric to my pantry then moving my fridge into the pantry. To free up room for an extension to my countertop in the form of a mobile island.

Been finding mixed reviews about butcher block. Some saying its high maintenance, others saying they've had it for years and barely seal it and have zero problems.

It is also my wifes house, who cares a great deal more than me about what our kitchen looks like

Personally I like the curtains but none of it was really up to me

Nice. The after def looks better! And yeah, I've painted and refloored my upstairs bathroom, did new floor in my downstairs bathroom, stripped and restained my deck, and have replaced one of the sections of stairs on my deck.

It's not a fancy before/after reno like yours but we had an outdoor alfresco that had a monster of a water tank that birds liked to shit on taking up space and a baby that needed room to play. So we got rid of the water tank and encloses the alfresco into a playroom. Don't have a good before pic but here's what it looks like now. The water tank was basically where the couch was.

It adds so much room for her to play so well worth it.

We also mounted the TV's to the wall and I converted the 'nobody uses this room so we put things we don't need in it' room into a home office since I can now work from home.

you must live somewhere warm huh

looks great. Even just mounting the TV can make a huge difference. I did that for our living room after over a year of just having an old TV stand in front of our fireplace

next project is probably going to be some kind of built-in shelving around the fireplace, but we found a cheap temporary solution that gives us more space in the meantime

Yep live in Sydney. We definitely don't need a fireplace heh. We also got rid of that garden and concreted a little bit so we can still sit out the back! The house has pretty limited space so an alfresco just felt too limiting for us.

Great job, my current kitchen kinda looks like your old one. I'm wondering If I should redo the whole thing or just redo the countertop cause that's the ugliest part.
