Wow wtf... I don't think I can view video games the same. What a ride like dude I didn't think video games could be that fucking good.

The option for ending E really drives home the meaning of the game. I feel like I have ascended and I'm perfectly fine with never playing a video game again...until Replicant comes out.

Is the first 1 this good? I got a PS3 still laying around I can boot up.

Like seriously? How has nobody forced me to play this game until now?

In terms of story, yeah. Overall it's a bit better IMO, and I like the main cast more. But I think Nier Automata once you enter the tower edges it out slightly, and 9S's vengeance plot had me at the edge of my seat more so than anything in the original Nier.
I'd say wait for the Nier remake before playing it though.

Man it was definitely a year jerker, but I couldn't be in my feels when 1000 bullets are in your face. I read that the choir is actually the dev team.

Man that arc is what sealed it. I was cool with A/B endings having me question my existence, but literally shattering everything in the first 5 minutes in route C was just too much. It was the first time I had to pause playing a video game and take a breather.

Play it like right now. Im not the one to hype things up, but you're seriously doing yourself a disservice. It's only $20 on steam right now and it's easily worth it.

I went through similar emotions playing the game and still am. It's been 3 days since I've beaten it and I haven't picked up a different game since.

I started reading more something I was never interested in. Currently, I'm reading Beyond Good and Evil which I can't seem to put down.

The thing that people don't really talk about in the reviews is that the game forces you in a position of Hitler/Stalin and how shitty of a position it is to be there. The second article touches it, but none that I have found really goes deep into it. There were times when I felt like the machines were human and we are slaughtering them willienilly. The thing we were to protect is the thing we are actually killing.

My issue with 9S is he was the one that could actually read the minds and relate to the machines since he was the main one doing all the hacking, but he doubled down on his brainwashing. 2B and A2 I could see being less sympathetic towards them, but not 9S especially since he was the first one to start questioning their consciousness early on in the game and throughout his playthrough constantly questioned the probability. Ultimately, I think the result would have been the same.

Him disregarding how machines and androids were the same made sense since he was so far gone by that point, his anger made sense, everything else made sense, but the only thing that didn't make sense was that one thing.

The original Nier's gamplay got a bit boring by the end of it, but its definitely worth it just for the story.

This game caused me to look further into existential philosophy and thus landed me in one of the worst depressions of my life. Great game!

The bad ending where 2B and 9S say fuck it and just go fishing is still hilarious to me.

Most people do when having an existential crisis. He was the first to realize they were fighting for no reason and everyone, including yorha, was designed to encourage it. He was crushed under the weight of his new reality and chose his mission as his mental anchor.
