Parts of it don't look so orderly anymore and you start to see regions that do their own thing.

You can see it by looking at a CRT television or a window shield for bugs for example.

might not be what you mean, but since it's a repeating pattern, your eyes can focus on it incorrectly, similar to those 3d cross your eyes pictures.
