Torment: Tides of Numenera

the setting is earth, a billion years from now, where many civilizations have rose and crumpled, and you play the final castoff of the Many Faced God (basically a dude who has achieved immortality by being able to through multiple bodies, one at a time, and you play the most recent one he dumped), and you're trying to regain your memories.

I haven't played more than 30-45 minutes, but I thought that was pretty cool.

The Outer Wilds

You get to explore a solar system in a sandbox-ish environment. You're in a death loop and need to figure out why and how to stop it. You get a little more info each time and it's a ton of fun.

I played that.

I don't think I appreciated it as much as I should have.

^ I've never been a PC gamer, so unfortunately, I'm unfamiliar with Starcraft.

I'll maybe read up on it, though.

Shadowrun the fps. Magic and cybernetic enhancements in a fps also a katana. It was fun but it pissed off shadowrun fans as it wasnt a rpg and didnt do enough to pull in new fans. Made me mad simply for not having a single player campaign. Shadowrun has a lore and it was barely looked into in the game.

The main thing I remember about that game is people being pissed over no ladder climbing animation

God this game would've been amazing if it had had singleplayer. As soon as it came out there weren't enough players to sustain its online-only games.

I enjoyed fighting bots for awhile but that got old. My other complaint was buying things as the rounds went on. I felt you should have just been given some money and you get everything ypur gonna have before the first round.

Short story, the Earth ends up with a worldwide united government. As a way to both rid the planet of criminals and scout/conquer a distant sector, they send three massive galactic carriers full of prisoners to establish a colony somewhere in this sector. The game starts 100-200 years after these colonies have been established in different worlds across the sector under their own government called The Confederacy. They also mostly have southern accents which adds more flavor to these colonists.

As the game progresses you come across an alien race of bug-reptiles that seem to be mindless killing machines. Another, far more advanced, humanoid, telekinetic race shows up and burns the entire surface of the planet the bugs started to infest, eradicating all life on it.
thanks.

the first part sounds like a sci-fi, intergalactic Australia.

Bendy and the Ink Machine

The plot isn't anything too amazing, it's more the idea. The aesthetic of the game is kind of similar to Cuphead in that it's about that era of cartoons. The environment in the game has a sort of handrawn look to it. The difference is that it's a horror game and this is your main antagonist:

Unfortunately, the gameplay isn't nearly as interesting as the premise. There's not enough survival in the horror and the game is 90% fetch quests.

Deus Ex--technology blurs the line of what it means to be sentient or human.

Kind of like Billy Hatcher, but better imo

The World Ends With You - You've been entered into a 7 day death gauntlet. The stakes are high, and you don't know what your entrance fee was, or what your prize for winning is.

I made it sound real shit but both the gameplay and premise are tops

It sort of is, but with very deep southern accents rather than Australian ones.
Kinda fits, since Australia was colonised because Britain couldnt dump all its convicts in the Americas anymore.

Most games with the unreliable narrator premise.

Resonance of Fate. I'd have to spoil things to explain the true premise, but the advertised one is something along the lines of all mankind on Earth is dead from a miasma and the survivors all live in a tower named Basel. Now play as these 3 characters in a steampunk setting and figure out their backstories and the truth of the world that they already know.
