Best Amara build is still using phase lock with ties that bind, getting a phasezerker class mod and building 99 stacks of violent tapestry/do harm by phase grasping nothing and then grabbing something and instantaneously killing everything
you can solo end game content pretty easily with such builds --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

However, I don't need future game advice right now, I'm just starting out. What's a good starting path to take until I can respect into the build I want latter in the game? Like, what are the good early skills I can take to help myself out a lot? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Start off with the green tree. The extra close range damage is maybe the biggest damage boost you can get before level 20 or so. Lots of goodies in that tree to make you tanky too. I steer clear of red til later.

It's pointless to "build" at low levels. You should be experimenting to find what works for you.

Tc I literally started the game a few days ago playing the same character and I also want to know the best skill tree to go with early on.

All I can really advise is pay attention to weapon names, they explain more about how the gun operates this time.
Also, the Siren is meant for close range more than Maya was. Find a good The Lob shotgun and you'll be happy. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

That's why I went with Siren in BL2, I could hold them in place and shot them without having to aim too much, lol --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Ugh, now I remember why I stopped playing BL2 after awhile. It takes to f'n long to get anywhere. You walk way too slow, I'm f'n terrible with driving the car, and I have terrible aim, so killing those quick little bastards takes me awhile.

I honestly need to get a wireless mouse that I can turn on and off quickly. I'm playing with my controller, but then it goes to my mouse that has a "drift" to it, and makes my miss a lot of shots. But I don't want to take the time to unplugged it from my USB every time I want to play the game
