the issue is that gotchas only exist in instances where someone like ben shapiro sheds all nuance and understanding of the complexity of a situation in favor of appealing to his dumb audience who will think that him being witty is more of a victory than actually proving a real argument

there is no actual arguing with that lowest baseline of people, because their entire headspace is that of anything besides me is wrong and they do not care about reality

when you accept reality you have no need or even ability for a gotcha because a gotcha is a substitute for a real argument that feeds emotions when there is no factual victory to be found

People do love it because of how "gotcha" it is, but it isn't real,. and it has absolutely no value to the world, because it makes false assumptions about conservative reasoning and behavior (namely, that after they get 'pwned', they don't immediately fade from existence, but come back with a new line of what they know to be bullshit).
