Seems like there is a bit of audio drop with sound effects and voice-overs during quiet scenes for various retro games.
Its most damning with every FF title up to FF9 with optical cable; to confirm it for yourself the sound cuts out if you move the cursor fast enough, and sometimes it will just cut out when it wants to for like a split second during quiet scenes though it doesn't really have to be quiet for it to happen sometimes. But when I switch to AUX mainly for retro games everything just fixes itself. OPTICAL doesn't seem to affect modern games hardly at all though strangely enough unless its a Retro Port. >_> I still need to still need to test Tales of Symphonia PS3 port though I was told that particular game was a result of very bad sound mixing for PS3 version, and I was mainly playing that one at the time with OPTICAL. EDIT: This is also noticeable with the PS3 Menu if you move around the cursor fast enough too, but never noticeable with AUX. Maybe I should say fuck it and get a Soundbar with HDMI ARC; I held off too long getting one. --- Gimme dat, gimme dat, gimme dat DramaFAQs-misterbum ... Copied to Clipboard!
