Should you give some to the gift giver?

As in, you get a scratcher for Christmas. You win $10k. Should you give some of the winnings to the person who got you the ticket?

No. I would probably buy them a thank you gift though. A really nice bottle of wine, a $100 gas card, something.

It would be nice but you're not obligated to give them back anything.

Seriously, lottery tickets are the dumbest gifts. There's a fair chance you're gifting them a worthless scrap of paper, and on the off chance you're not you're potentially giving them thousands or even millions of dollars when you're barely getting by yourself.
