As in, do all your memories just seem to be floating in some nebulous haze of "the past"? Like your memories all seem equidistant in terms of when they happened

Like, I remember last week like how I remember instances from when I was in pre-school

This is hard to describe but I was wondering if it was one of those "yeah everyone does this" things

No, I have a sense of time. Though, when I embody my memories, I experience them as my current self, not my younger self.

I can't remember if it's always been this way or if I'm just getting worse. Sometimes I forget I bought/made food then like hours later I'll see it sitting there and be like "oh"

I'm sober when this happens - not just when I'm high

I have issues with remembering how long ago something happened. A large chunk of my childhood happened "when I was 6", until I think about it and realize it was impossible.

But that's minor. I can confuse something from 2 weeks ago as having happened over a year back, and vice versa. Doesn't cause me too much trouble, because it forces me to verify shit before committing.

Yes, exactly this. Similarly, it's not a huge deal for me but it's something I've noticed lately. I really can't tell if this is due to self-isolating or if I was like this prior to Covid.

after a certain point, yes

memories from a year ago feel the same as memories from like two or three years ago for me.

also anything more than like, idk, ten years ago might as well all have happened within the same time frame. my brain basically categorizes memories as recent, sort of recent, or a long time ago

I've got everything organized by console generations, for some reason.

I think you might remember the same way I do, based off this one instance

It's funny because I can remember seeing Attack on the Clones on my friend's birthday (also 2002) just as clearly as when my Dad died in 2013. But neither of those feel any earlier than the other. Like I was mentally the same age in all three memories. But maybe that is just current me projecting onto the memories I had when I was a kid.

Very strange either way

my sense of time is definitely fuzzy, but there's still some sense of chronology there.

I mean, kind of. I feel like all the same person if that's what you mean. There isn't too much distinction between different phases of my life internally, although, maybe I just haven't grown a whole lot? Idk

Well, it's like this, memories from further past don't feel any different in any way. It's all in the past, but it doesn't feel any different based on how much further I know it is, it all feels the same way.

Fuck, it seems like quite a few of us have this. There must be a proper term and explanation.
