Turned into a TV series.

Dude has a mission, to proceed with said mission he ends up at some town or planet. He meets some NPC that gives him a fetch quest, he goes and does it. Shit happens and the sidequest has two choices, he tries to pick the right one and shit goes wrong. In the end with some luck and some other NPCs he gets the job done.

When he comes back, he learns like a tiny bit of info regarding his main mission, and he's off to a new town or planet.

Rinse and repeat.

It's basically Fallout but without the bugs (except that Ice Spiders episode).
