He was arrested on Dec 12 and charged with drunk driving, improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon and using a firearm while DUI He came to police attention after being involved in a "traffic altercation" A witness told 5-0 that Kleiss was driving across Memorial Causeway bridge in a 2016 Volkswagon with a barrel of an AR-15 sticking out his window At one point he held the gun up to his SHOULDER to point it out before drawing it back in It's unclear why he did it but after tracking it down at a laundromat, police said he was standing outside his car with his car still running and keys in his hand and his gun carelessly laying on the dashboard with a FULL MAGAZINE in the bullet chamber. He was highly intoxicated with bloodshot eyes as he swayed and reeked of beer. His blood alcohl was 0.143 which is above the 0.08 legal limit He said he toted around his AR-15 for "self defense" because he's seen some crazy s* going on in Florida after arriving from Alabama.... It's unclear what he was describing as he's only lived in Clearwater for 2 years for college.
