Oh, I know they are making tons of assumptions about me, if they care at all.

I always treat my cashier with courtesy and respect, even if they are being a dick. It's a bullshitty job but all workers deserve their due respect while on the clock.

I can't say that I've ever considered a cashier's opinion of me aside from the Middle-Eastern family that owned most of the gas stations in my hometown. Those were my fucking homies growing up through high school.

I sometimes work the register at work.
I judge sometimes.
I am not making personal assessments on their items, but I do notice how interesting what they buy is.
I do make personal assessments on how they act. And I can tell you younger people on average are much more likely to be decent and respectful. Also, why do old guys throw money or cards down?
Also, also, Old people like recepts.

On a positive note, I may have met a new friend by noticing what she buys, it lead to an opening-up and now she is showing me pictures of her cats which just so happen to be maskless selfies. So, there is that!
