Against Japan we were the big player.
Against Germany we made things a lot easier but the Soviets and the rest probably would've eventually taken them down USA or not. Germanys defeat was inevitable, but watching WW2 documentary it's amazing how many of their more major tactical blunders were attributed to Hitlers poor commands overall rather then just leaving it to his general who admittedly may have been some of the best in the world at the time.
