Marvel's first asian actor for a lead franchise, Simu Liu is labeled a SELL OUT after he admitted that he DELETED a tweet slamming Mark Wahlberg in 2018 when he tried to get a PARDON for a 1988 assault on 2 Vietnemese men when it was announced the duo will appear in a new movie, Arthur the King, together!!

The 31 y/o Canadian wrote back then "Let me get this straight, Mark Wahlberg beat a helpless vietnamese man with a stick until he passed out when he was 16 and is attempting to get the courts to grant him an official pardon on the basis he turned his life around?"

After now that he's starring with the 49 y/o actor in a movie, he deleted it and is accused of selling out his principles for a movie

When quesioned, Liu, who was born in China but immigrated to Canada at 5 insisted he wanted to have "progressive conservations" with the actor and said "So i think it's pretty obvious why i would delete a tweet like this. I'm trying to set the stage to have progressive conversations and take positive action instead of just hurling stones. I understand the anger but i don't appreciate the immediate hostility and harassment"

He also said he posted that tweet as immediate anger but wasn't denying what he said a the moment but a firestorm of outrage then progressed as one person said "Think i would have respecrted it more if you just came out and said, i did it for the bag rather than scrub away the evidence of their past criticism"

In 1988, a 16 y/o Wahlberg hit a vietnamese man in the head with a wooden stick while trying to steal 2 cases of alcohol in front of a convenience store near his home in Boston. He punched another man, army veteran Johnny Trinh in the face.

Wahlberg also chased 3 black kids and shouted racial slurs at them and threw rocks at the kids

In 2014, Wahlberg asked for a PARDON for his crimes cause it was affecting his HOLLYWOOD CAREER. He was sentenced to 2 years and 45 days behind bars for that

Ironically, Liu starred in Canada's Popular asian program "Kim's Convenience store" where he plays an employee.

He will be Marvel's first Asian Superhero in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings currently filming in Australia.

Well, I mean, he HAS turned his life around. And it's been long enough that it wouldn't be entirely unreasonable to expunge his record of shit he did as a minor, although I personally don't see much point in doing that considering he already served his time and people know what he did.
