He has only himself to blame 60% (15 votes) 15 A widely shared video on social media shows a tense confrontation between a 21 y/o man who was apparently playing hockey and skating around 40+ other people when Calgary police officers said they had to disperse after a new order that bans large gatherings. Despite the sign posted at the area however, the people broke the law and used the rink to skate around and play anyway The man inquires why he is under arrest and the female officer said he is going against health regulation in Alberta He says "What is it? What's the health regulation?" Outdoor skating rinks are allowed to open per new provincial restrictions but they are responsible for setting maximum levels of participation and they must maintain social distancing Bystanders are telling the skater to just leave and stop talking but he REFUSES as the female officers get aggravated and said he was under arrest and tell him to get on the F*ing ground. The man asks again why as he begins resisting and and screams at them as the officer then threatens to TASE him After finally getting him on the ground, people then yell POLICE BRUTALITY and start surrounding the victim as the 21 y/o then starts yelling "Where is my freedom? We're outside. This is our life. We're fing human. We can do whatever the f we want. What kind of a life we live in. Where's our freedom" Police say the video did not show the start of the confrontation when the sole man refused to leave as everyone else did and was challenging the officers.. Calgary has issued 11 tickets this past week as Conservative Premiere Jason Kenney finally caved and mandated masks and social distancing rules as the province is one of the hardest hit in the country despite a smaller population compared to Ontario, Quebec and its western neighbor, British Columbia. Everyday Alberta has seen over 1500 cases with more people have died of COVID in the last 10 months than in the last 10 years of the FLU. Conservatives are now using the video to warn others that their rights are being taken away from government control and are asking others to "stand up" to the tyrranical government.
