Amazon doesn't even employ "millions upon millions" of workers period, let alone low skilled workers. Starting off with making things up isn't the best tactic.

easily but you'll ignore most of it or counter it with socialist jibber jabber lmao. but imma do it anyway.

amazon sustains the middle class. it has transformed the way the middle class does business and it employs millions upon millions of low skilled workers. where would we be without amazon? that is the real question. i mean unless you prefer wal mart who actively pay people less and give you worse hours.

amazon was even hiring amid the pandemic, something very few retailers are doing.

How does this counter what she said about people being on food stamps and/or being homeless despite being employed? You've ignored what she said and just gone on a marketing rant.

a ton of jobs that still wouldnt have paid people enough to afford to live in that area

You realize this was a headquarters and not a warehouse, right? A significant number of those jobs would have been white collar, and would have included managerial and executive positions.

I think when people hear Amazon they automatically assume that it's about a warehouse that pays people minimum wage, but this wasn't that type of building.

https://ny.curbed.com/2018/11/16/18098589/amazon-hq2-nyc-queens-long-island-city-explained
after the company begins hiring in 2019, Amazon will create 25,000 jobs over the next decade (with up to 40,000 when all is said and done), with an average salary of $150,000.

as part of the deal they were also going to invest in infrastructure in the area, including building schools to specifically train up for new tech jobs.
Amazon will also build a new school with as many as 600 seats on its campus, along with a tech startup incubator.

Social programs that don't drop off a cliff just because you're starting to get ahead, is actually a good thing.
Homelessness seems like a semantics stretch here. Are there Amazon workers who sleep in a car or cardboard box behind the warehouse, or is this workers sleeping on someone's couch while saving up for a deposit or down payment?

You're confusing full time employment and part time jobs.

Teens trying to get a bit of money don't tend to be in full time employment.

why would you pay low skilled workers more than what they pay? if youre argument is they cant make a living then your anger should be aimed at inflation caused by demand and production costs. which in turn is caused by an ever growing economy, due to immigration, expanded trading. you should really study economics if youre going to make ridiculous points

and you can rest assured many middle class business owners are getting rich off that too. amazon singlehandedly has sustained many businesses. youd be hard pressed to find businesses these days that dont take advantage of amazon
Again, that's not a counter argument. Why should Amazon pay their employees more? Because they made almost 12 billion in net profit last year. They could have paid their employees a combined 10 BILLION DOLLARS more and still had a couple of billion to split between the people at the top. That's why.

Amazon wearhouse has a reputation for not only being one of the worst major retail warehouses to work at they pay the absolute lowest wage compared to other companies.

If your not aware of the industry this would sound outlandish but it sounds about right.

LOL

If it's not a business' job to pay people a livable wage then can we at least stop with the idea that "jobs" are some meaningful measure of economic success for real people and not just the 1%? I know that people will say that a business is there to make money but you can still make a profit and treat your workers fairly.

Yes you can make the most money possible by exploiting your lower workers, but if you don't see the problem with that you're a fucking sociopath
