Me, I just care about likeable main characters. I don't need to have my own attributes represented, but I do want the character to be somewhat relatable. Relatable but different is a valid characterisation.

I dont care too much. it does get old seeing boring-design generic white guy a thousand times a year but I'll live. I mostly play games for the power fantasy

It would be nice to have a single gay character I think is cool, and would want to be, for once.

Not particularly. It can be interesting to have a character I can relate to, but it doesn't really make or break the experience for me.
