Sure, I mean, the medical profession is suffering massive burnout and needs relief staff to care for the sick on the covid front line, but let's make it easier for people to stay home and do nothing instead of filling in so they don't die from overwork instead.

Plenty of work that still needs doing to offer UBI to anyone capable of doing it in medicine, in infrastructure, in those green initiatives people say they want. It's "need" is just the cry of people upset the easy jobs are going away today and you can't earn a living wage as a retail clerk anymore.

Plenty of things that "nobody wanted" became immensely popular and started changing things. We're seeing it with marijuana legalization across the country. Happened with gay marriage. It'll happen with UBI too. It has to.
