if the confederacy won, i imagine they'd aim for new york or chicago as the token jewel of their victory. would make oen of those the capital in your alternate history.

if it was alternate history where nazi germany won, i'd probably pick london as their capital.

If the Confederacy won there would be two countries, North and South US

I think they keep it in Richmond to rival Washington DC
