its funny becaue i was listening to the instance podcast and scott was saying they take too long and blizzard will surely reduce the time it takes to complete a run.

I'm glad I quit WoW years ago.

It was all downhill after Ozzy Osbourne.

It's a shame that most of the remaining Classic players seem to be the tryhards so you can't get that "casually explore the world" experience anymore

According to the streamers I watch, shadowlands is the best expansion in years, and coming off of BFA makes it look even better.

Doesn' t FFXIV have a fraction of the subscriber base, and they have to schedule their expansions around WoW because they can't compete straight up?

Yup. FFXIV ended up being the WoW killer. Also, didn't Shadowman end up getting delayed by a month or two? That is unusual and shows cracks happening over at Blizzard.

I did layer 7 yesterday and it was ezpz. It's like, week 3 and these are the last layers in Torghast. People shouldn't be expecting to just breeze through them if they're undergeared.

Plus the higher layers are barely even worth doing since you get less soul ash from each layer

Their schedule has nothing to do with WoW. They have consistently released their major patches on a specific timetable since 2.0 came out.

Wrong, and stupid. Not only have their releases coincided with WoW ones before (including the patch that just came out), but WoW releases are not always consistent. Meaning FFXIV patches would have to be inconsistent to be avoiding WoW releases, which they are not.

Patch notes were already up before I did it. They buffed mobs if youre a tank since tanks were just face rolling and bragging about how they never die.

My havoc DH had already been getting hit for ~8k by some bosses when they get to 10 stacks

How do you figure? WoW still has an enormous active sub count and Shadowlands was the fastest selling PC game. Shadowlands got delayed due to Covid. How does that show cracks?

Shadowlands in general is the largest time sink of an expansion I think we've ever had. I would much, much rather be bored and be able to casually play then have to deal with all the nonsense this one brings.

Torghast has been a total bust. I run it on a Prot Pally and was doing +6 fine. Floor 8 is nuts. It took me nearly 30 minutes to clear the first layer. After finding no powers (I think I got 3) that provided any boost, realizing an extra 5-10 minutes was going to be tacked on the next layer was a no-go for me. I do find it incredibly bad they launched it so uneveningly. I steamrolled up to floor 7 with my Pally, yet my Rogue can barely do floor 2.

I really believe instead of using that extra month they gave themselves by delaying release that they just used the time to buff all of their content instead of finding balance. God forbid we clear raids in a day. Oops, the top groups already did that, so now every one suffers.

What class do you play?

Havoc DH. I did get good powers that run, the end of floor bosses are really tough after layer 5 and a couple of them probably would have killed me with worse powers.

You literally only have to do an hour each week. Compared to Legion and BFA where you were forced to grind non-stop.

I play rogue and the anima powers I get are mostly garbage. Shit sucks.

oh yeah I heard rogue wasn't great. I've had a few really bad runs. About to do Upper Reaches 8 and probably get spanked.

yeah couldn't finish floor 1 lol. I killed 4 tower sentinels and got 0 anima powers after the one at the beginning.
