So I decided to use all three weeks of my PTO this month, and at the very beginning of it (literally 2nd day of pto) I lost my taste and smell completely.

Thing is I haven't told anyone else yet and I'm supposed to go back to work in about six days. I haven't had any other symptoms, no fever, no nausea, none of the other stuff. However I have never lost my taste or smell for such a long period of time, which has me a little worried.

This is probably a dumb question, but should I get tested? I'm a little nervous about it honestly. Does it cost anything? Does it actually really hurt? Just not sure how to feel or if I should even be worried.

Aren't you legally obligated to get tested? Can't you get fired for withholding such information and endangering the lives of your coworkers and your coworkers at-risk friends and family? What kind of mickey mouse operation do you work for that doesn't have this shit figured out and didn't think to ask if you had symptoms when you took what basically equated to a three week voluntary leave of absence?

Yes, it is a very, VERY dumb question.

But a dumb question is better than no question at all

I'm not sure what you're going on about. The symptoms occurred after I left the company and I have almost a full week before I return. I'm not sure how I'm endangering people when all I've done the past two weeks was stay locked in my house. I'm also not sure why you think the company is going to ask me if I've had symptoms while I've been on PTO.

But thanks for the input, I guess.
