I've spent over a year on Facebook singles groups. Here is what women want.

(I hope there's a lot of ado in this topic. :3)

A few notes before I get into it:

This is just raw information. I make no judgements or complaints or anything like that, just relaying information.

It's not one single group, it's various groups each with different levels of activity and tone.

This is located in the Houston, Texas area. Which is an extremely important fact. This may all be totally different compared to places like California or New York. The women are 90% conservative, so obviously they're attracted to that kinda stuff, more religious, more republican. I say that while acknowledging the fact that Houston proper is actually a liberal city. The members of these groups all seem to live in the suburbs, however, and the suburbs of Houston are far different than the actual city, and are much more conservative, with preferences to country stuff.

I never really interact much in the groups, so this isn't from personal experience, but rather by observing myriads of public posts and discussions about what people are attracted to in a partner.

So, without further ado (damn it!), my findings:

The most important thing, by far: Masculinity. In its most basic forms. Women are attracted to men that are masculine, capable, have skills, are physically tall/large/strong. They want men who drive large pickup trucks. Most of them admit to being turned off to men who don't know how to change their own oil or make repairs around the house. With respect to love language, acts of service seem to be the most important thing. They want their man to be able to DO things. Build stuff. Haul a trailer. Hunting is a huge one. Manly stuff. Fishing. Something that is outdoors. They want a man that can dance. They want a man who is super confident, who can make decisions without being wishy washy, who plans a date and knows what he's doing. Someone with large forearm muscles. Someone who could physically defend them in a fight and make them feel safe. The ability to maintain an interesting conversation. Masculinity and the confidence that goes with it is basically what they are hardwired to go crazy over.

With regard to looks: Skinny men are absolutely a no. Being a little chubby is actually okay but not really fat or anything, and being super ripped is actually a turn off. Most of them prefer beards. Forearms are the most attractive part of a man.

With regard to money: Being rich isn't a requirement, but you must have a steady job and live on your own. You must be prepared to take on a family of small children. To be fair, they honestly don't seem to be gold diggers, and most seem really cool about it. They're even okay with making more money than you. They just want you to at least "hold your own", and they seem to hold themselves to the same standards.

Things they 100% do not want and are completely unattracted to: being short, being skinny, having small forearms, lack of confidence, inability to have a conversation, men who complain being nice doesn't get them anywhere, video games, geek culture, not having a job, sending dick picks, not being able to dance, still living with your parents, not wanting children, men who are not attracted to overweight women.

When a scrawny nerd, or a fat neckbeard, or (god forbid) a manlet goes up to a hot woman and confidently hits on her it's considered creepy as fuck.

Confidence isn't going to land you every hot woman you approach, just more women than if you were to approach them without confidence.

Confidence is probably the most universally positive trait you can have.

Many women are attracted to either tall or short, skinny or buff, masculine or feminine, etc.

Not many women are going to be attracted to someone being described as unconfident over confident.

Confidence is a positive, but definitely not a panacea. Physical attractiveness, hygiene, financial stability, ambition and sincere effort within dates have a far stronger influence on romantic success.

The main role of confidence is to help fuel those positive traits. But without at least one or two of those, confidence generally won't get you very far at all. Hence why "Just be confident" is such bad advice - it simplifies the matter too much and therefore sends an incomplete message to men.

Looks, confidence and money. Have enough of any one of them, you can do well despite deficits in the other two. There's also a fourth category, called timing/luck. As in, you luck upon a woman who happens to be horny enough or in a certain place emotionally where she will settle for a guy who is lacking in all three. Or maybe she is lacking herself in those qualities. Most males get women due to this.
