I've seen plenty of people who liked the game talking about the gameplay. Few of the people who disliked it, though.

Its a massive improvement gameplay wise imo

It's good. The hit and run stealth mechanics are fun.

If you've played TLoU1 you've experienced most of what 2 has to offer.

You either like it or you don't, that's why people often discuss other things in that game.

It's pretty similar to the first game really. Shotguns are devastating every other gun feels weak. Melee is OP.

It was more of the same with minor improvements. It's still solid, but there really wasn't anything noteworthy.

everyone praises the gameplay. they just shit all over the story. i bought it on sale but haven't played it yet. i have finals this week and plan to play it over christmas break from school. still have to work everyday but that's the main game i plan to play. maybe go back to playing twewy and shadow of the colossus as well but it's been awhile since i played either now.

despite how you might feel about the story, the gameplay is really fluid, and uses its mechanics really well.

like, it only added crawling and jumping outside of what it already had from its predecessor, but outside of the tools, it feels like a more cinematic Metal Gear.

the gameplay in TLOU2 is mediocre, it basically plays identical to the ps3 game. it's is a stealth game where the stealth rarely works, the enemy AI is braindead, and your options for how encounters can play out are so limited. honestly metal gear solid 2 felt more advanced than this gameplay-wise, TLOU2 gets by entirely on production value + presentation

What people who complain about movie games are missing with games like TLOU2 is that it has genuinely engaging and difficult (on higher difficulties) gameplay.

stealth is very important and combat ramps up in difficulty as you progress

you also are pretty limited on supplies (again, on higher difficulties) and while you probably will be able to kill everything, its not a given

I never got to play TLOU, I heard it was better than Uncharted which was just hold up to auto platform which turned me off

I had lots of criticisms with the level design in TLOU1 that were basically all fixed in 2. It was way less scripted and more dynamic and it always felt like you had control over the encounters.
