Since everything is online and stuff, I'm offered the choice to select one of my courses this semester to be converted from a letter grade to a Pass/No Credit grade format to where a course converted won't affect my GPA.

So, wouldn't it just be beneficial to just use it on the worst class I did this semester (B+) and my GPA will go up?

I don't think my university had that option... and if they did I never used it.

Last semester there was a special policy for the pandemic at my university.

Yeah go for it. In my last year I just did pass/fail for most of my electives so I could just get a C and concentrate on compsci classes

So I will go from a 3.764 GPA this term to 3.9 if I drop it

obviously if the case was I had a lower than 3.3 GPA overall for my program I would keep the B+ still and not drop it, right?

If the B+ is below your GPA, it will lower it. If it is above your GPA, it will raise it. That's how averages work. When you graduate, your decision on whether to P/F one course you got a B+ in will not affect your GPA in a meaningful way. I did a semester abroad and the entire semester was P/F. Didn't really do anything meaningful to my GPA.

My fucking joke of a university should have, but didn't. They're also charging us full tuition for all online courses. Some teachers are even refusing to acknowledge that things have changed and are trying to run traditional classrooms via Honorlock, which is a blatantly creepy invasion of our privacy. They make you show off your fucking bedroom or wherever you're taking online tests. The worst are the tenured piles of shit.

Yeah, my college allowed students 4 of them for their academic careers in bachelor degrees. A pass grade was the equivalent of no change to your gpa iirc. I think it was a limit of 1 per semester up til you used all 4 p/f designations. Pretty viable if you were entering a class that you knew beforehand you were going to struggle in, but could still pass.

Youll definitely need to read up on your colleges specific rules, though. And its important to know if its really a good decision or not in the fine print.

Oh now that makes sense, in that case yeah a Pass/Fail course would definately help GPA's for sure if it's high enough. If I was in that position though I would be aiming at C's though.

So you think universities should charge full price for full online courses? Many universities even wanted to raise tuition due to the pandemic

Many classes expect students to be experts at using the technology/software and punish them for not knowing how to use it when the professors don't know how to do it themselves

I think universities should drop costs from tuition for services students are unable to use (e.g. gyms), but do not think they need to charge less for online courses, no.

Experts at using...Zoom? Are you being punished for not knowing how to click "turn on webcam"?

How do you think they are doing simulation activities? They go through with virtual desktop and use slow ass software and their submissions are timed
