Xenoblade DE was 89 and probably the best game released this year, next to Yakuza 7 which was either the 2nd best or the 3rd best next to Hades. Don't really care for Souls games and MS Flight Sim is amazing but hampered by bad updates and just not having that much stimulating gameplay, which usually means it won't stick with me. AC: NH was also good, but only because I played with my fam, and that was probably the first time I've ever played a game with all my fam as they're pretty anti-games. They probably easily call AC the best game of the year

Out of the ones I didn't play either due to never wanting to own a PS console or not knowing the series enough like DMC, I really want to try Ori because everybody loves it but I wonder if it'll top the top 3 of the year for me.

Also played Astral Chain, which was heavily underrated even by me at the time of release. This game is fucking amazing, and if we're counting games outside just this year, it might be top 3

Thinking about it, my personal top 7 of the year definitely has to be

1. Xenoblade
2. Hades
3. Astral Chains
4. Yakuza 7
5. Guardian Tales
6. Apex
7. AC:NH

Not that much release in general this year, and I played a lot but don't remember most of them

i thought Ghost of Tsushima had a 90 or more... lol

anyway, so far i only played Animal Crossing, Hades and Last of Us 2.

will get Cyberpunk and THPS 1 + 2 later.

I have not played any of them but I do have LOU2 installed on my PS4. Plan to play it once I finish Crosscode

Oh yeah Xenoblade X. I think it has its charms, but the fans of that game are completely different from the fans of the numbered series. They're very different games but similar world design and art direction, and obviously done by the same staff. X's biggest draw is after you get the mech and flight, which is pretty far into the story.

Also one of the biggest draws of the Xenoblade numbered ones is the story, and X completely missed any resemblance of a compelling story. At least you'd think something is gonna happen... then it doesn't. Meanwhile the other games deal with far more interesting story elements.
