Like assuming at the time of filming/working on the movie that Legendary still wanted more movies after this one, there's just no way they could kill off Godzilla and have a franchise centred around/"led" by King Kong right?

IIRC in the original Godzilla vs. King Kong, they changed the ending between the Japanese and American versions so that their respective monsters won.

I never saw the newest Kong movie (Skull Island IIRC), but didnt they significantly buff him so that he can stand a chance against Godzilla for this movie? At least thats what I heard

He's not full-grown in his movie (it takes place in the past), that's about the only thing I remember.

I think this matchup is stupid and they're most likely gonna make Kong win which is dumb.

It'll be a draw where they team up and fight Ghidora. I believe Godzilla would win personally, between being a radiated giant lizard and having the tail as an advantage; he should he able to fuck up Kong. But Kong was a child in Skull Island so it's really hard to say.

The OG movie had Kong knock out Godzilla and he fell into the ocean where Kong swam away after so it was more ambiguous (some say Kong retreated after 'Zilla made it into his own playing feild, others understand 'Zilla was knocked out).

Basically in the OG had Kong not swam away and waited for 'Zilla to get back up, he would have died, but instead he took the win and left 'Zilla to fight another day.

Watch Kong win by killing Godzilla. Only for it to be revealed that it was only a baby Godzilla and the real Godzilla who is 10x as big as that Godzilla pops up in the end like the animated series they had on netflix.

That's a myth. When that movie was filmed Godzilla was a villain in Japanese cinema. King Kong won the battle because he was the hero facing off against the villain Godzilla.
