It seems like every obstacle in the world has a little mini invisible wall around it, so it's easier to get stuck on things occasionally.

The enemy AI is also somewhat dumber and the combat doesn't seem quite as good as Odyssey's aside from that.

That said, it's still a fun ass game. It's giving me the same problem I've had with all of the recent AC releases where I'm straight up getting addicted.

Just watching how much time has gone by via save files is something else, because I really don't get invested into games like that anymore.

TL;DR Not quite as good as Odyssey based on first impressions, but still kicks ass all the same.

I loved origins and odyssey but this one feels a bit lazier and not as interesting. I dropped it mid game to play yakuza like a dragon. I'm sure I'll pick it back up eventually

That's what I did too, but I also just got Cyberpunk. No idea when I'll be going back to Valhalla, since both Yakuza and Cyberpunk are pretty lengthy games.

I've put about 45 hours in. Done all the sub stories and tasks up to where I'm at. Just got a few quizzes left at the school

What chapter are you on? I just got to chapter 8, and I did everything I can up to that point as well.(except some substories not showing up, like number 11 for some reason)

Chapter 11. Some sub stories require your charisma or other personality traits to be at a certain level before they pop.

Does the story stay interesting? I feel like every chapter has ramped up the stakes, and it's so good so far.

I'm not that far in the story, but that first dream sequence was kickass!

Love the foreshadowing and nods towards the mythology there.

And fucking Fenris!!! Goddamn, that was cool

One thing I do appreciate about this game especially is the gear upgrades. It's cool that they look more and more legendary as you upgrade them.

That said, I've only found carbon ingots so far, so I've only seen the first upgrade levels of a few items.

I wish we had the option to alter Eivor's hair color from the get-go, when he was a child. It's weird going from blonde to red or black, but those are the colors I would've preferred.

What weapon are you using? None of them felt really good to use until I found a flail, which looked and felt brutal. Only bad thing is, the range is a bit short, but I think the tradeoff for the better gamefeel is worth it.

Right now I'm dual-wielding an axe and a hammer.

I sort of share the same sentiment, except that in my case, I think it's more an issue of how the heavy attacks work.

I'll keep an eye out for the flail. I had no idea that was a weapon type and that sounds freaking awesome.
