Even if you cant visit them much?

I wish my mom was buried here in the US when she died 7 years ago but her wish was to be buried back in Philippines where majority of her family and friends are

IMO she should have been buried here so that I can visit her even if it will mostly only be me seeing her

Uh, cremation or donation. Whichever is easiest.

You should care what they want if you actually cared about them

Why? They're dead. They're gone. It's meaningless

Sucks for me, but if that's what they want then that's what they get.

No offense but whats the fascination of visiting the remains, you could honor her just as well regardless of where youre at in the world

I do whatever they wanted.

I'd want someone to do the same for me.

Immediately family yeah. I would expect members of extended family to ask their immediate family to take care of that.

Religion plays a part in not being cremated as some prohibit it. For both Catholic and Christans it isn't recommended either because they aren't sure if they can be resurrected without a body. I'm an atheist and even I know this....

As for wanting to be burried else where my wifes family has a tomb where 6 members fit. They currently have 3 so far. My mother in law wants to be burried with her mother/father and siblings as well.

If it was within my financial means to do so, I'd do it. Otherwise they get whatever I can afford.

If it happend right now the answer is definitely no since my passport is expired and I don't even want to think about what the fuck customs I'm going to have to go through to bring a dead body across international lines. I can't even sneak a sausage across those dogs.

I'm not much of a "literally visit the grave" person, so it wouldn't be that bad.

But granted my parents have no other country or anywhere where they would reasonably request to be buried there, so they're likely going to be buried as far away as they currently are from me (halfway across the country).

If its in my ability to do so, absolutely. I'm not one for visiting graves, to be frank. My father's been dead for 4 years now and I've never been to his gravesite. I don't need to travel anywhere in order to remember my dad.

That's....rough, TC. I'm sorry. I can't picture my mom wanting to be buried far from me.

No
My mom had all sorts of crazy shit she wanted done with her remains after her death. We told her yes to humor her because she was using it as a coping mechanism. We did none of it. Less to do with visiting remains and more to do with impracticality. If it was reasonable I guess we'd have shipped her off to wherever. My mom isn't where her remains are.
