Yes, it's really something that can't be replicated anymore. It was gaming on a level that consoles or computers couldn't offer at the time. Favourite arcade game at the time was The Punisher.

I miss Dance Dance Revolution. I was never great at it, but it was entertaining. Also nice to have an audience every now and again.

Then there were a few games I only got to play a handful of times that used sensors to detect body movement. There was a boxing game that I had to basically buy my way to the ending, a Japanese light gun game where you ducked behind objects and shot at criminals, and a sword game I could never finish. You could theoretically start doing similar titles with VR, I suppose.

I had just discovered a new place in my area about two months before COVID lockdown started. They moved to a new location during shutdown but haven't opened there yet. Hopefully they're able to afford it during the downtime!

The Simpsons Arcade Game was probably my favorite, closely followed by Turtles in Time.

The only arcade I knew of growing up was in the mall, except it was down this hallway where they bathrooms were so it always felt vaguely weird going there. Favorite old school games were probably TMNT and Simpsons, I loved the beat'em ups.

I wish I could've pubstomped (whatever the equivalent concept is) in some fighting games in the arcade, but I didn't know how to play them yet.

I live near Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, which has it. Need to go back once it reopens.

It's an experience I'll forever cherish having as a kid but there are still arcades where I live and honestly they're just way too damn expensive. Like it's crazy hard to justify paying $2 to play just a few songs in a rhythm game or a couple rounds of a fighting game I could play at home.

For sure. There's a really big dedicated arcade near me, which I like going to when there's not a pandemic.
