the dynasty warrirors games proper look like shit. giant hordes of enemies you 1hko, yawn

and now they are somehow branching out to actual good series first with hyrule warriors and now persona 5 strikers. i watched a video of persona 5 strikers, and while im going to give it a shot because i love atlus and persona, i can already tell the combat is going to be boring, and i can see from one of the gameplay videos the level design is boring and uninspired. square room after square room with no story going on

its cheap and tasty and convenient

persona 5 strikers is $100 aud and the gameplay is going to leave a bad taste in your mouth. hopefully the persona portion of the game is there at least

I dunno if it's made by the same people but a lot of buyers were upset that Age of Calamity wasn't like BotW.

I've never played any of the franchise based games on like anime and rpgs and stuff. Only ever played Dynasty Warriors main series and a little of Samurai Warriors

The main reason I got into DW was my interest in the source material which is the Romance of the Three Kingdoms historical Chinese novel

DW is based on legends which in turn are based on actual Chinese history. I was reading about that stuff after a trip to China and then realized there were video games about that stuff so I started playing it

I never really cared for the DW characters, but the mindless, flashy hack n' slash was fun. That's why I liked Shin Gundam Musou. I could nuke the fucking battlefield with Wing Zero Custom :3

It's made by the Dynasty Warriors team with Nintendo coming in to collaborate with the story.
The previous Hyrule Warriors definitive edition had hundreds of hours of content, an original story, new characters, a massive cast from across the entire Zelda franchise, and some crazy cool weapons and campy fun.

As a huge Zelda fan and someone who loved Hyrule Warriors, AoC is not very good. I hate the UI, there is no adventure mode, and the characters are limited to only BotW characters. AoC is a step backwards honestly.

Arent they just power fantasy, combo multiplier go up type games? Seems like a pretty popular type of game. Not my kinda thing but whatevs. I heard the Fire Emblem one was aight. I played the Gundam and some DW ones on PS2 and they were okay too. The Attack on Titan one this gen was also pretty okay but it definitely had a different feel.

Well yeah it makes sense. But having a game where I can switch between Tingle, Skull Kid, The King of Red Lions, Midna, and girl Link with a Bayonetta mindset is significantly more varied and interesting than only Link, Zelda, the 4 champions and Hetsu.

i played one of the DW games on PS2. was about fun for 30 minutes but that's it... no real incentive in going back to it.

I've beaten both and completely followed both as closely as possible during the run up to release.

My original post was to inform the person asking if AoC was made by the same team as BotW or not, then I threw in a mini review. I don't know why you're complaining about that.
