Not sure how to say this. I think he's guilty. It's a horrific crime, gang related, I have no sympathy for people who kill for thrills (that's a gang basically) but I'm against capital punishment.

Let people decide if he gets clemency, not another unelected group of politicians (The Supreme Court of the United States).

I think the death penalty is fine. It's just that the standards for sentencing it need to be more heavily regulated to be based on irrefutable evidence. Actual scum should spend years fearing their inevitable early death.

I cant honestly care here. His participation in a heinous crime makes it hard for me to have sympathy.

Man, I'm so pro Death Penalty that all this topic managed to do is made me feel relieved that we'll have one less criminal on this earth in our not-so-distant future.

Hopefully this closure will finally give the victim's families some sort of peace of mind knowing that justice was served at last.

It's more like he wasted away in prison for the last 20 years and he was finally given the death penalty. I don't actually know anything about this particular case, I'm just assuming.

Anyway, his death will be on the conscious of the governor of Texas for better or for worse.

It's more like he wasted away in prison for the last 20 years and he was finally given the death penalty. I don't actually know anything about this particular case, I'm just assuming.

Anyway, his death will be on the conscious of the governor of Texas for better or for worse.

Well this guy was 18 when he did this.

Not that that absolves him obviously but there's still a lot of time for him to grow as a person. It's not inconceivable that he could be or could have been rehabilitated.

Death penalty is really only "OK" once that route has been totally expunged, and it most likely hasn't been.

However, government testimony during the trial claimed that although Todd Bagley died instantly, Stacie had soot in her airway, signalling that she had died from smoke inhalation and not the gunshot wound.

I mean who knows for certain but In any case, the guy is/was a massive piece of garbage

Yeah if you do something wrong then you should be punished for it by being removed from society until you are fit to return to society. The reason why the death penalty isn't inherently wrong IMO is that it isn't always realistic to rehabilitate everyone and there are limited resources.

But in a civilized society we don't get revenge on people or torture them for committing crimes.

I don't think the death penalty should be part of the US legal system, but it's not something I would do anything about, because those people do deserve to die. It's just that I don't think anyone should have the right to kill another person, but at the same time, if U.S. law permits it, then it's like, you know, I'm not personally going to support NOT killing a murderer, just that no one should be allowed to kill anyone, even a murderer.

Maybe Biden can help push legislation that will ban executions, but this Brandon Bernard person is gonna die since Biden isn't the President right now, which is fine with me that guy killed some people, which is wrong. I do hope that Biden stops executions though I think that shouldn't be allowed in general.
