Preamble: I work as a caterer, mostly weddings. My industry was one of the hardest hit by COVID and has eaten through my savings. Business has picked up a bit in the last few weeks for holiday parties but is still way less than it was this time last year.

To that end I've picked up a second job as a cook. The pay is less and it means I'm working 14+ hours a day any day I work both jobs but the two together add up to over 40 hours a week which should be enough to easily cover my bills since I live under my means with two roommates. Like, on paper I am doing all the things I should be doing in my situation.

Except every goddamn week this month somehow my bills come due a day or two before I get paid. And the new job started me in the middle of a pay cycle, plus they hold back a week so I didn't get a check for 3 weeks after I started and when I DID it was only for my first week. And then to top if off two bills are debiting me earlier than expected this month due to oddness with dates since November only had 30 days (no idea why TF they count actual number of days between billings rather than on a certain date but it is what it is I guess). All of it combined together has fucked me good to where when everything processes at midnight it looks like I'm gonna be $4 overdrawn until I get paid Friday. I am hoping since the charges will only be "pending" I can get to the bank as soon as they open tomorrow to deposit my emergency $20 I keep in my wallet to keep from overdrafting cuz fuck paying a $35 fee or having my car insurance payment decline.

Its just super stressful. I think everything should level off once I get my first full check from the new job but goddamn I hate feeling like I'm working myself to death and still having to sweat money. I *think* everything will work out this week and the end of it is in sight but holy shit

Put some of those auto debit bills on a credit card then.

Jesus, I get home today and my car insurance went thru when I didn't expect it to process until midnight. Thank God I stopped by the bank. $4 in my account til my check hits in a few hours.

I don't like putting anything to auto-debit on my credit cards because the limits are extremely low. I've only got 2 and one has a $900 limit and the other has a $300 limit. Instead I manually cycle payments thru them and make sure they're cleared off before they start accruing interest. Unfortunately I'm at a part in the cycle where both are almost maxed, but since the limits are so low it isn't hard to clear them either. I have no idea why I can't get more cards or higher limits, my credit score is 780 \_()_/
