It's the implication that people go into science research in order to make the fraudulent big bucks.

Fucking imagine drowning yourself in college debt to get your STEM Phd and spending 60 hours a week in a lab or in a classroom marking papers for your $70k a year job, and someone online thinks you're basically more corrupt than Donald Trump

Some people want to pat themselves on the back for choosing to remain ignorant.

Then again, you can't force somebody to think, they may not even be capable of such thought.

I guestimated some numbers but whatever it is it ain't much, comparative to a similarly skilled role in something that is not research

Some people do go into advanced studies simply to further their research and for grant money. People try to twist politics into everything.

People should be questioning science. Especially where it's coming from. If you really are a scientist. This is the problem too with context. People don't know where it's coming from. And some things should be questioned. Just ask Rebekah Jones. People who bow down to the almighty science god aren't really scientists.

People should be questioning everything including the (usually) incredibly unmeritable ideas they choose to replace the science with.

You can't call for scepticism without also applying scepticism to whatever it is you believe instead.
