Death all in all a garbage series. People stick on the series because it was at least aestheitically pleasing. The beginning kinda show potential but its getting old after few cat and mouse chase to prove whose Kira is. But we already knew who kira is from the start so there's nno pay off to see it in the end. The N substitute was the worst L ever conceived. He's just L with same weird gimmicks and mannerism. It seems to me the author had no confidence to put a rather normal person to pit against Kira instead opted to do the same thing with introducing this peculiar L-like being which was somehow worst than L ever was.

This was my only real issue tbh. N really felt unneeded other than just another enemy for Kira. If they were just gonna replace L with L 2.0, why bother replacing him at all? Especially when L was so awesome

Are you trying to say the fact that we know who Kira is a mark against the series? Is Batman a bad comic because we already know he's Bruce Wayne? I don't know what your point is here. Figuring out who Kira's identity is not the point of the series. The point was to see whether he gets caught, there isn't supposed to be a reveal.

I think masking kira's identity is a more superior way to end the series when the big reveal was announced in the end. Batman and other superheroes didnt need these revelation to the readers to make them more interesting. As they're more action oriented to entice the reader to flip through how batman will slap his archnemesis joker without killing him of course. Death note unfortunately didnt have this luxury. Most of the time character was standing there expelling the whole essays on how they could counter each other strategies. I wish there could be the one big reveal involving kira that would more interesting than what we have now.

Death Note ends after L dies as far as I'm concerned. What came after that was just bad fanfic.
