in a majority POC cast they ironically still give the most memorable song to the white guy.
I think the novelty of a hip-hop themed, historical musical have it more popularity that it probably deserved? It's one of the corniest ideas in modern entertainment. "What if the founding fathers rapped?" - it's like something out of an early Simpsons episode.
