Never done one in my life. Thinking of going to the doctor for an examination and see if they need cleaning, maybe make sure wax hasn't been pushed into the ear canal, etc.

I had mine done about a week ago. I have to do it from time to time. I have a history of them getting plugged up. Its nice when I can finally hear clearly again

Yeah, always had drainage problems and it's been bad enough to affect my hearing occasionally. Fortunately only had to go to the doctor for it a couple times

I just use a toothbrush as the bit on my power drill and go to town

Ive had mine scraped out once but they usually just use warm salt water and blast it in there with a plastic syringe

Yeah they get a syringe with a plastic tip and push a warm water/peroxide mix into your ear, there's a pan you hold under your ear to catch all the water and gunk. At it's worst, it's slightly uncomfortable but that depends how hard they are forcing the mix into your ear.
