17 y/o Trevor Wilinson, a senior at Clyde High School in Texas was SUSPENDED from in-person classes because he wore NAIL POLISH of which the school FORBIDS males to wear!!

Thousands have signed a petition demanding the decision be reversed as he tells the media that he was summoned to speak to the teacher and said "I started to take off my backpack and my teacher goes, Trevor can you come with me?"

He was told that the dress code expressly forbids boys from painting their nails but no such prohibition for girls.

He said the policy is discriminatory towards homosexuals who has become increasingly uncomfortable at clyde..

Trevor says "Ever sicne i came out i have been having more issues at Clyde than what i normally would. I really wasn't surprised this was a thing. Clyde his very traditional"

He was told by his principals that he could either take classes remotely until January when the entire student body was back or go home and remove it and keep the nail polish but remain in suspension

He has no plans to remove it as an LGBTQ advoacy group is urging the school board to chagne its policy

More than 14,000 people have signed a virtual petition calling to lift the ban

The School District says it normally does not alter its dress code in the middle of the year as they will look into this into consideration into the next school year but says they have a strict grooming code for boys and girls and says they would like both groups to adhere to their gender specific attire
