I enjoy reading. Have a ton of books I want to read but no time.

I also have a 45 min commute total every day. That's roughly 16 hours a month.

I figure I can read a book every 6-8 weeks if I switch to audio books. I dunno if I have the attention span for it.

What's been your guys experience

Youtube. 1.5x speed. You'll have more than one book finished in 6-8 weeks!

Most libraries offer a free membership to overdrive which is full of audio books. I'd look into it.

no, join your public library, a lot of them loan out audio books. audible is pricey if you listen to a lot of ebooks

I honestly expect 1 book to last me a month. I can't listen to this stuff every single time I drive to/from work, sometimes my brain is just fried and I want to just listen to music or just keep silence and shut my brain off completely.

I did Audible for like 4 or 5 years, and got a lot of good use out of it. Mostly did fiction fantasy stuff, and the production values were decent. Did a few non-fiction (biographies and the like) and they were good too, though typically a bit drier but I think thats more due to the content than the narrators.

As other users have mentioned, your local library is a great resource though. I canceled my Audible subscription about a year ago and havent really missed it. Of course, I can still listen to the stuff I already purchased there, but the public library resource really is incredible.

Just did a bunch of searching. Theres a library right next to my work, I can go tomorrow and open a card. Then I'll register for overdrive and get that going. Thanks for the advice, people!

I did audible free trial, its cool but just doesn't seem like its worth the price. And I guess the currenty $5/month deal for 6 months is for audible plus but not audible premium plus? Not sure what exactly the difference is but I'm sure its not worth it.
