short version companies are making record breaking profits as it is

and games last gen did not cost 60 dollars do to all the DLC and micro transactions

and wages are stagnent and even employees of dame deve studios are not being payed well this money does not go to them it goes to the top

Even if it was purely because of rising development costs I would still prefer then not to make games with such large budgets. Most break under their own development cycle anyway.

I'll never pay more than $60 per new game. That's just how it is. There's zero reason for them to cost more. This is just corporate testing the waters to see how much they can squeeze out of their consumers. If we all exercised our buyer power they'd knock this off real quick. But you got these dumber consumers who feel that any suggestion of how they should spend their money is a personal attack against them so they'll throw $80 at the game just to spite everyone.

I honestly feel like a big consumer shift is coming. It's already happening in a lot of other markets. People are fed up with being taken advantage of economically. I don't doubt this would bring other people to start looking for alternative sources of entertainment.

thats how its debunked they dont need to raise prices as the market has grown they are making larger profits than ever before

and they are stuffing microtransactiosn and DLC into games

Yeah, and i'm glad the "indie trash" stigma has seemed to mostly have gone away at this point, I don't see it posted much at all these days. There are a lot of really good, fun games that can be had for cheap.
