Cleo_II 11/30/20 1:07:40 PM #1:	If anyone remembers, I posted that we got a week in Kauai in my grandmas timeshare over Christmas break. Hawaii had implemented a program that if you tested negative 72 hours before the flight, you can skip their 14 day quarantine requirement. Our flight was a direct one from LAX so we felt good about going if everyone on the plane was going to test negative and my OB gave me approval to go. The mayor of Kauai just asked the governor to be exempt from their testing program and the request was granted. Meaning even if you test negative before the flight, you still would have to quarantine for 14 days. So now we have to cancel things. Probably for the best but still bummed out since it was going to be our last trip before baby gets here. Staycation it is. Maybe flip a coin between some of your favorite classes and just go for it? You can always level another one if youre not feeling the one you picked. But I dont feel comfortable with how much of a covid hotspot it is. I really liked that everyone had to test negative before boarding to Hawaii too. I got the timeshare for free in September from my grandma and we were ok with travel given the circumstances I outlined. My own OB said it was fine and he was going to Hawaii himself (I asked him last Monday). Ill trust his judgement over a CE rando. And I dont see why not have a kid during a pandemic. Everyones circumstances are different. In our case, the timing was perfect since we both wfh now. Its not for a few months but were getting to the point where we might cancel our two week visit there because of all the uncertainty about travel during Covid. Were all staying in the house the whole time but no idea if airlines will still be doing Covid procedures.
