Lots of people wanting in before the news hits confirming merger complete, government funding approved, and moving into Texas A&M lab tomorrow

The facts are from a couple different investing forums (that had links to official releases) the analysis I guess would be my own based on real world factors.

Looking at Etrade now. I figure I can open an account and get started with the transfer process, and then when that's done i'll see where this stonk is at and whether or not I want to invest.

Is there any negative effect to opening a brokerage account? Are there any credit checks or inquiries involved?

Start with an individual account. You can always open more accounts later the difference is only in taxes and fees.

Etrade does check your credit, but it's only a soft pull. No hard inquiries unless you're applying for margin.

Is that the same as a Brokerage account? That's the option I'm given on the app (in addition to Core portfolios, premium savings account, traditional IRA, etc)

You make an account with brokerage firm like etrade, TDAmeritrade, Fidelity, etc. You confirm your bank account details and transfer money to the account. Once you have money in the account, you can then buy stock from a list of tons of companies.

Then you hold onto it and hope the stock price goes up. Or you can do day trading, assuming you have enough capital that you won't be penalized for it, where you make multiple trades on a daily basis in attempt to capitalize on slight moves in the market on a particular stock or stocks.

There's a lot more to it than that, but that's the very basics of it. You don't have to do advanced trading if you don't want to.

How easy is it to report stock profit/loss to the IRS? I know with crypto, it's a headache.

Don't worry, it'll bounce back. This has happened a couple times over the past week or two. New highs for a couple of days, sudden crash at open, then climb back up higher than before.
