Spending my entire summer vacation from school with my granddad who lived on the Jersey shore, from age 8 to 17, all we did was fish, crab, and spend quality time together. I learned more from that man than I ever did from my father.

Getting each new console, the NES, SNES, Genesis, and Dreamcast.

The TMNT and X-Men cartoons after school.

Is he still alive or did he pass away?

I also learned more from my Granddad than my Father, but I grew up with my Granddad (parents are divorced)

Playing through Legend of Mana with my bud when I was like 9

Starting to play tetherball, getting my ass kicked by one kid over an then absolutely wrecking his shit a month later. Become obsessed with tetherball. Get a tetherball pole set up in my backyard, play against myself all day. Go on to destroy every single older kid on the playground, create a monopoly on the tetherball court since we used king of the hill rules and nobody got close to ever beating me. Got to the point where I was punching that ball so fucking hard that I would break the string with my punches within a day of them fixing it, ruining the game for every single kid like some fucked up tetherball overlord. Eventually towards the end of the year my teacher sat me down saying that they can't afford to keep replacing the tetherballs and the other kids are pissed. I didn't care, I saw all their asses crying in line but what the fuck were they gonna do. Teacher says I have to go easy or he will ban me. Tell him "Ok" but then go right back to punching that ball with all my might. Teacher says I am banned but I just kept sneaking on to the court and threatened any kid who snitched by saying they will feel my tetherball punch to the face if they did. Moved away from there before I could ever become the oldest kid on the playground, and middle school didn't have any tetherball courts so that kind of ended my tetherball legacy.

He died unfortunately, at age 87, just a couple years ago. My dad died before him. losing my granddad impacted me so much harder.

I don't remember much. What I do recall is painful or not enjoyable.

I just want to restore this world back to the natural. Bring order to this broken reality. To the way it should have been, all those many years ago.
