Turkey with gravy, stuffing with gravy, raspberry sauce, sweat potatoes with marshmellows, scalloped potatoes, pumpkin pie.

The whole shebang. It occurred to me that we usually don't have most of these dishes the rest of the year. Why?

Some people do. Depends on preference. Easter and Christmas as well.

Even when I was still in family gatherings, I didn't really enjoy these things. I don't really like to overeat either and I don't like leftovers.

I just want to restore this world back to the natural. Bring order to this broken reality. To the way it should have been, all those many years ago.

Cost is a factor for some of it. Time to prepare, too. Cooking a full turkey is an ordeal.

My family eats a lot of turkey all year round, but we generally just buy a turkey breast and drop it in a crock pot for 8 hours or so.

I think I do. I mean, most of the common things. Like turkey (though, usually not the whole thing), mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and the desserts. Also, vegetables like greens beans and stuff. There are some things like stuffing or cranberry sauce that I only eat then. That being said, its not usually altogether. But most of the food is just normal food. Its just mixed in with some things we dont always eat. And usually, people dont cook that much unless they are having guest over.

I feel like this has been me the past 5+ Thanksgivings. When I was a kid I would eat until I was about to explode but since I started trying to actually not eat 5 meals in one sitting most of the appeal of the Thanksgiving dinner has gone away.

I still like most of the dishes and love some of them (scalloped potatoes is like Mac and Cheese for rich people pretending to be poor people and mac and cheese is a amazing.)

My wife and I make a mini Thanksgiving every few months, but we just make a small chicken instead of messing around with a turkey. In fact we just did chicken even today.

Cooking the turkey takes a lot of effort, well if you butterfly it it cuts down on the hours of baking, but still that prep work.

Right? A full bird if the grandparents are hosting all the cousins and you have 15 people eating it but when its even 6 people you have this massive amount of meat left over.

Maybe my Thanksgivings are weird. We just normally have lots of normal foods. Turkey, Mash w/gravy, mac and cheese, veggies, desserts. And that's like just normal food you can eat whenever. I'm surprised people don't just eat that at different times of the year... Unless you mean al together. But if that's your question, then the reason we don't is probably pretty simple...
