I made them with Madagascar vanilla bean pods and topped them with cinnamon glazed strawberries. I made sure to use a decent quality brick of cream cheese as well. Only thing I kinda fucked up is the crust as its very crumbly. Not sure where I went wrong with that.

Thanks! Yes I did. Got them to a light golden brown. But theyre very crumbly. Oh well. I also made a whipped cream topping. Just need to figure out how to make the crusts hold better next time.

is the cream cheese set well for when you unroll it? and are vanilla pods expensive in the US as well?

Thank you! Yes they hold pretty well. Vanilla bean pods are maybe $2-3 each so a bit pricey considering you can get a bottle of vanilla extract for the same price. But the taste is phenomenal and I love using them in baking.

Pic of a cut one (ugly one used for demo lol)

i prefer the taste of pods as well. some extract can taste over-sweet and artificial

im impressed with the layers and how well it holds

Thanks! I feel pretty good about the structure and ratio. Especially for my first time

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I had a feeling it was the butter. I put a whole tablespoon more than the recipe called for. And I had hoped prebaking would help it. Oh well, Ill nail it next time. I did like that prebaking the crusts gave it some good flavor though

I love both but I feel like I prefer baking just for the satisfaction of making others feel happy with some delicious baked goods. Im a great cook but I bake with a lot of heart. There arent many bakers in my family, mostly great cooks, so I tend to be the designated dessert person and it feels nice to watch them devour it lol

I'm not usually one for desserts, but those look scrumptious.

Dang, now I got the munchies for something similar. Which won't be easy to find hereabouts... :(

You don't bake them in the oven right? It's cooking the crust then placing in the fridge?

I want you to grab your nuts. Grab your balls. I want you to take a handful, and just grab your nuts real quick. Swivel 'em around in a circular motion.

Typically you bake the filling along with the crust which is what I did. You can make no bake cheesecakes as well

It was very easy to make tbh
