I think I recall the wording as being, paraphrased: "Saying that a game is bad is not trolling. Saying that the game is bad, and that everybody who likes it is an idiot, is trolling."

There's a pretty big difference. One is an opinion, one is an attack.

It's from the old board etiquette rules from back when you could still mark people for trolling as a discrete option.

Essentially doing something like going to the pokemon board just to say Pokemon Is Complete Garbage is trolling but saying Pokemon is garbage because (reasons) or "I think this game is garbage" is not.

If you say Pokemon is garbage here, you probably get away with it since this isn't the board dedicated to Pokemon.

You are allowed to hold negative opinions on games. What isnt allowed is game bashing. Simply going on a games board and saying this game is shit/trash/garbage, etc and offering nothing of substance in your post is an easy trolling delete. It offers no point of discussion and is inflammatory and antagonistic to fans of the game.

Look, argue all you want, but trying to claim something like there was massive voter fraud in the 2020 election against Trump, or covid is a hoax/not a threat as an opinion and protected against trolling is ludicrous. As it stands theres plentiful evidence against those bogus claims, and its either a bad faith argument to inflame tensions on a board, or just blatant misinformation that shouldnt be allowed to stay on the board.

Like sure, theres times where intent comes into play when you look at the trolling category but blatant conspiracy theories is not one of those times.

How do you think the mod knows whether or not the community 'perceives' an opinion to be trolling? Their only source of immediate feedback is the number and content of the reports they receive.

Hence, if members of the community report an opinion as 'trolling,' then those members of the community are telling the mod that they perceive the opinion to be trolling.

And if the mod says that their decision is based on community perception...a substantial number of reports will establish a perception that the opinion is 'trolling,' hence...the mod will then treat the opinion as trolling, as the community decrees.

I think I need you to explain in detail how that isn't actually the case, and how I'm being "dishonest" about it.
