Anya Taylor-Joy is the star of Netflixs smash hit series The Queens Gambit and shes opening up about her physical appearance in a new interview.

The 24-year-old actress sadly doesnt think shes beautiful enough to be a movie star, though we definitely disagree.

I have never and I dont think I will ever think of myself as beautiful, Anya said in a new interview with The Sun. I dont think Im beautiful enough to be in films. It sounds pathetic and my boyfriend warns me people will think Im an absolute dick for saying these things, but I just think Im weird-looking.

Anya added, I wont go to the cinema to watch my own film, Ill watch it before. The beauty of being in your own skin is that you dont have to look at your own face.

Anya stars in the movie Emma, which was released earlier this year. You can watch it now on HBO Max.

I genuinely had a panic attack on Emma because I thought, I am the first ugly Emma and I cant do this, because the first line in the movie is, Im handsome, clever and rich, Anya shared.

Shes literally the most beautiful woman alive.

She has a unique face with some pronounced features and I can see how that can easily translate into thinking you're weird looking and having some image issues. I'd say she is pretty, though.

She already has a better film career than most actresses her age, despite any qualms she has with her looks. I don't think she's a good actress at all tbh but her looks are definitely not her problem. I think she'll have a fine career but I think she has to hone her craft cuz she's the low point in everything other than probably the Queen's Gambit imo.

I'm sure to some degree she's become very self-conscious since her image is obviously a big deal for her work

Obviously beautiful or popular people can't ever have any issues with themselves, because their beauty or popularity makes them perfect so it's only for attention that they'd ever say things like that. Only the scrawny nerds of GameFAQs are permitted to take issue with who they are, because their self-esteem issues are definitely more genuine.
