Half of this dude's family dies because they can't jump off a second story building. His sister is locked out on a balcony and she goes back into a burning house. His brother is on the roof, about ten feet off the ground. Instead of just sliding off, he creeps around on the gutter until it breaks underneath him, he falls, and impales himself on a wrought-iron fence.

It's Lifetime Movie Network level of dumb.

Holy shit, the characters are so inconsistent and terribly written. In the span of a single scene, the old lady:

• Scoffed at the idea that the professor should call the shots and instead suggests they vote on what to do.
• Immediately agrees that the professor is right about going into town.
• Then later expresses skepticism at the idea that going into town is going to help.

And the simple fact that everyone doesn't agree to go into town when magic fog is literally keeping them away from the bus is just further proof that they're idiots.
