It's a fantastic story that really keeps you guessing.

The gameplay is about 60% visual novel and 40% tactical combat similar to Front Mission.

I've been on the fence about it. I LOVE Vanillaware games, but I don't like turn-based strategy. I don't know if I would like it.

It's not turn based, it's real time but time pauses while your in the battle menu. Kind of like the final fantasy ATB system (your attacks have cool down) but only for your side, the enemy is always moving and attacking when your not in a menu.

The combat was a lot of fun, and it's only a small part of the game.

I was interested looking at the screenshots but this is a bit too much visual novel for my tastes. :(

The visual novel parts are quite engaging tho. You aren't just standing there spamming X at a static screen. There is a lot of movement and little touches that keep you engaged and multiple paths and such. Not to mention the story telling is solid, the characters are likeable, and the visuals are stunning.

And the combat sections are rewarding as well.
